Folks, Depression is something someone in the pharmicutical industry. EVERYONE gets depressed, it’s called LIFE! Deal with it. Stress is NORMAL. Synthetic pills that cause pshyciatric affects are not! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!
Talk to your doctor about CRACK. @SagaciousSilence
I think you are over-simplifying a condition you have no empathy for. You sound like a scientologist. Or Charlie I-cured-it-with-my-mind Sheen. The fact is that there are both hormonal and emotional factors in this disease, and it needs to be managed through psychiatric care and/or medication. Telling a depressed person they are pitiful and lazy for being depressed tends not to work, despite whatever ubermensch fantasies you may hold about self-treatment. “Just suck it up.”
@90Boone Don’t spout off like taking Psych 101 has made you an authority figure. I’m a college student myself thank you very much, so don’t waste my time. The truth is that people will depression are submitting to their base impulses. So while you are right that there is a lack of serotonin, the individual can simply work past this with proper effort. Allowing yourself to be lethargic just because you’re not doped up with a certain drug is, by every logical standard, pathetic and weak.
@SagaciousSilence You obviously do not understand how depressive disorders work. It’s not a matter of being too weak or “emotional.” The hippocampus simply ceases to produce as much serotonin (the happiness hormone) as is needed to be healthy. In short: you are an ignorant c*nt.
What a bunch of incompetent, sob story-telling whiners. Oh, you’ve had a hard day? I’VE HAD A HARD LIFE! You couldn’t believe the tears I’ve cried–I could grow crops with my tears. Well guess what? TOUGH SHIT.
Now quit being such a bitch and go out and make something of yourself in this world. Yeah, it’s hard, but the fact that you have a computer and the time to read this comment means that you have what it takes to make something of your life.
yeah cymbalta is shit, take heroin for depression ;-)
